INDIANAPOLIS – The UIndy volleyball team (8-6, 1-2 GLVC) bounced back on Saturday, sweeping the visiting Illinois Springfield Prairie Stars (5-8, 1-3 GLVC) inside Ruth Lilly Fitness Center. The Greyhounds got back in the win column after a short two-match skid, sweeping their fourth straight opponent when earning a victory.

UIndy held its opponent to sub-.100 attacking percentage for the sixth time this season, limiting UIS to .099 hitting over the match.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Greyhounds never looked back in the opening set once they snagged a 15-14 lead off a service ace from
Hannah Sabotin. The UIndy middles – Sabotin and
Hannah Huppenbauer – combined for eight kills and three blocks in the first frame, while the team collected five of its seven aces to lead, 1-0.

UIndy hit .312 in the second, with
Grace Hegwood finishing six attack on eight attempts to lead the offense.
MaKenna Barnhart, meanwhile, scooped up six of her team-high 14 digs in the game and Sabotin totaled four blocks.

The defense did not relent in the finale, holding UIS to a miniscule .023 attacking. The Greyhounds recorded 21 digs as a unit in the set, as
Alex Equihua and
Lauren Peal combined for nine scoops.
Lauren Cullison added four kills in the third, finishing with six in the sweep.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- Sabotin returned to dominance in the middle, totaling nine kills on .533 hitting, while recording eight block assists and two service aces.
- Hegwood led the Greyhounds with 10 kills, attacking at .364 clip from the outside.

Sara Spalding nearly recorded another double-double, adding nine digs to her 23 assists. The rookie out of Bardstown, Ky., also tallied three kills, three block assists, and two service aces.
- Peal was productive off in the backcourt for UIndy, making four of her nine digs in the final frame.
