Around the Pound

Happy new year Greyhounds and welcome to Around the Pound, your one stop shop for all things Greyhound news, coming to you every Monday. We hope you had a happy holidays because the Hounds certainly did! Read about the last two weeks of the Hounds below.

MEN'S BASKETBALL
The Greyhounds ended 2022 as well as anyone could have hoped, extending their winning spree to five games to close out the calendar year. The first win came just exactly two weeks ago where the Hounds won the battle of Indiana division II, taking down Purdue Northwest on their home court. Jarvis Walker, a new face to the UIndy this season, was the hero of the Hounds, scoring 26 on a perfect 10-10 from the field. Alongside Walker's excellence, four other Hounds hit double figures on route to a near 100-point performance, squashing the Pride 96-78.

They came home for their next contest, hosting NAIA Ohio Christian, seeing the Greyhounds nearly drop 100 yet again, taking a 97-61 win to close out 2022. Kendrick Tchoua, who against Purdue Northwest eclipse 500 boards, dropped a monster double-double with 19 points and 14 boards in just 22 minutes of action. Jesse Bingham was a scoring threat as well, nabbing 16 points, but also a glass man, using his length to garner three high flying blocks.
WOMEN'S BASKETBALL
The Greyhounds were on the road to finish 2022, going 1-1 with a massive overtime win over highly touted Ferris State. They started with a trip to Ohio Dominican where a late run by the home team closed out the contest in a 80-73 Panthers win.

The Hounds, however, were not content on ending 2022 on a down note, travelling north to Ferris State for a in-region battle. Sadie Hill and Elena Wells both made their returns to the court. Hill made her presence known and in a big way, recording a 20-point double-double leading the Greyhounds in both categories. Her ability to draw fouls was the difference maker for the Hounds as 13 of her 20 points came from the charity stripe. Lauren With and Liv Becker made up the remainder of the Greyhounds scoring as With dropped a season high 18 and Becker dropped 15.
