INDIANAPOLIS – The Great Lakes Valley Conference capped its annual academic awards week Friday by releasing its 2025-26 GLVC Winter and Spring Scholar-Athletes of the Year. Indianapolis led the league with four recipients, while Maryville and Missouri-St. Louis followed with three honorees apiece. Missouri S&T and Rockhurst both landed two student-athletes on the list, with Illinois Springfield, Grand Valley State, McKendree, Purdue Northwest, and Upper Iowa rounding out the contingent with one representative each.

Alec Score (men's lacrosse),
Jeremias Pock (men's swimming and diving), and
Celina Schmidt (women's swimming and diving) represented UIndy. UMSL's
Mitch Bonczkowski (baseball),
Mara Rieder (women's basketball), and
Logan Mayo (men's golf) also garnered recognition, while the Maryville trio of
Elizabeth Teuber (women's bowling),
Cole Ritter (men's wrestling), and
Paige Murphy (women's lacrosse) represented the Saints. Rockhurst's
Creed Skinner (men's tennis) and
Ella Coleman (women's tennis), along with S&T's
Owen Fraser (men's track and field) and
Grant Edmonds (men's volleyball), rounded out the institutions with multiple honorees.
Madelyn Miller-Ross (women's track and field) collected an accolade for UIS,
Lauren Harris (softball) represented McKendree, and
Kyle Hrncir (men's basketball) earned recognition for Upper Iowa, while
Katie Lange (women's wrestling) of Grand Valley State and
Addison Black (STUNT) of Purdue Northwest also secured respective honors.
The league selects one student-athlete in each conference sport to be designated the GLVC Scholar-Athlete of the Year. The award is based upon athletic accomplishments, both team and individual, and academic performance in the season upon which the award is based. Each GLVC member has the opportunity to nominate one individual from its team for the award. Nominees must have a cumulative grade point average that meets a 3.50, and freshmen and first-year transfers are not eligible for the award. The voting is completed by each member institution's Faculty Athletics Representative (FAR).
BASEBALL
Mitch Bonczkowski, Missouri-St. Louis

- Named First Team All-American by the Division II Conference Commissioners Association (D2CCA) and National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA), along with claiming Second Team All-America honors from the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) and D2Baseball.com.
- Also garnered First Team All-Region honors from D2CCA, NCBWA, and ABCA.
- Earned First Team All-GLVC recognition.
- Established UMSL single-season records with 23 home runs, 75 RBIs, and 179 total bases.
- Also became the Tritons' career leader in home runs (32) and slugging percentage.

- Earned First Team All-GLVC honors after averaging 16.9 points, 9.0 rebounds, 4.0 assists, and 1.7 steals per game.
- Led the GLVC with 13 double-doubles while ranking eighth in scoring, tied for first in rebounding, sixth in assists, and seventh in steals.
- Surpassed 1,000 career points during the season and ranks 26th in scoring and eighth in rebounding in program history.
- Finished 16th nationally in double-doubles, 24th in rebounds per game, and 41st in total rebounds.
- Helped Peacocks make their third consecutive GLVC Tournament appearance.
- Started all 28 games for Upper Iowa.
- Achieved a perfect 4.0 semester GPA, holding a 3.97 cumulative mark.

- Helped Saints finish runner-up at the GLVC Tournament and NCAA Regional Final, also with placing sixth at the Intercollegiate Team Championships.
