INDIANAPOLIS—The UIndy swimming & diving teams both earned convincing wins versus nationally-ranked Carson-Newman, held Friday through Sunday at the Ruth Lilly Center. The UIndy men outpaced the visiting Eagles, 2,290.5-736.5, while the women won, 1,809.5-1,069.5, at the four-session, 40-event dual meet.
Â
All four teams appeared in the newest
CSCAA DII dual meet rankings, highlighted by the UIndy men retaining the No. 1 spot.
Â
The biggest mark of the weekend came in the diving well. With the Greyhounds competing only against themselves, reigning national-champ
Julio Osuna put up a massive 11-dive score on the 1-meter board, breaking his own school record with a 697.95. Meanwhile, all four UIndy women—
Alexis Lumaj,
Daeges Morgan,
Sarah Kerbrat,
Megan Sunderman—surpassed the 11-dive NCAA standard of 390 points.
Â
Meanwhile, a whopping 10 pool records were set by the UIndy swimmers, half of which were set by German-phenom
Cedric Buessing.
