INDIANAPOLIS – The UIndy women's basketball team defeated Southwest Baptist, 77-68, on Thursday night. This is the first time since the 2013-14 season that the Greyhounds have started conference play 3-0.
Liv Becker scored 17 points for the Hounds. Becker was 6-of-12 from the field and 3-for-7 beyond the arc.
INS & OUTS
UIndy took control of the game in the second quarter. The Greyhounds went on 14-5 run in the final 3:40 minutes of the half. Six of those points came from
Jada Haines, both being three-pointers.
Caroline Jakaitis earned two blocks during the first half helping the Hounds lead SBU 41-27 at the end of the half.
SBU had a resurgence in the third quarter, outscoring UIndy 25-19. The Greyhounds maintained the lead throughout, keeping it for 77.1 percent (30:39 minutes) of the contest.
INSIDE THE BOX
- This is the Greyhounds' fifth win in a row.
- Four Hounds reached double-digit points during the contest, including
Elana Wells with 15.

Patricia Chikamba led the Greyhounds with nine rebounds on the day. The team finished with 39 in total.
- UIndy struggled with turnovers, committing 19 during the contest while SBU had 13.

UIndy continues to lead the all-time series, 5-2, over SBU … Tori Hamilton of Southwest Baptist scored 15 points with eight rebounds in only 19 minutes of play before fouling out.
