UIndy Falls to Sixth-Ranked Drury

INDIANAPOLIS – The UIndy women's basketball team lost, 78-70, to No. 6 Drury on Saturday afternoon. The Hounds are now 5-3 and 3-1 in GLVC play.
 
Idalis Ortiz finished the game with a career-high 14 rebounds. Ortiz also contributed nine points for the Hounds.
 
INS & OUTS
UIndy led Dury for the first 11:03 of the game. This was due to the speed the Greyhounds came out with. Liv Becker gave UIndy six out of the Hounds' 18 points during the quarter.
 
Jada Haines was not far behind Becker in the first 10 minutes. Haines had five points including a 2-pointer buzzer beater.
 

The Panthers came back in the second quarter, quickly taking over the lead for the rest of the game. The Greyhounds did not give up. The team kept pushing and attempted to cut the lead.
 
INSIDE THE BOX
- Liv Becker was the leading scorer for the Hounds. Becker finished with 15 points. Haines (14) and Patricia Chikamaba (10) also finished the contest with points in the double-digits.
- Jada Patton finished with two out of the three Greyhounds' blocks.
- UIndy controlled the ball during possessions, only turning over the ball 12 times. While the Greyhounds forced 15 Panther turnovers.
- The Hounds struggled from beyond the arc, shooting 4-for-22 (18.2%).

MORE NOTES
The Panthers continue to lead the Greyhounds in the all-time series 17-5 … Reese Schaaf of Drury finished the game with a double-double, this includes 27 points and 14 rebounds.

UIndy will travel to University Park, Ill. to face NAIA affiliate Governs State on Tuesday. The contest will take place at the GSU Athletics and Recreation Center with tip-off set for 6 p.m. ET.
