Hounds Dominate Way Past Panthers

INDIANAPOLIS – The UIndy men's basketball team dominated on Saturday, earning a massive 82-51 victory over Drury inside Nicoson Hall.
 
Jesse Bingham and Paul Zilinskas led all scorers with 18 points apiece, combining for 6-of-11 from 3-point range.
 
The Greyhounds nearly pulled off a wire-to-wire win, leading for more than 39 minutes after a Bingham jumper at the 18:16 mark of the first half.
 
INS & OUTS
It was all Hounds after the Bingham paint bucket 104 seconds into the contest, using a 23-10 run over the next nine minutes that was capped by free throw by Julian Steinfeld. Leading the charge was Jarvis Walker, who tallied eight points during the stretch.
 
Zilinskas impressed for the second straight game, scoring 13 of his 18 points in the first 20 minutes. The junior transfer added five rebounds, three assists, and two steals to his final line.
 
UIndy was deadly from beyond the arc, drilling 14 triples on 23 attempts in the win. Josiah Tynes scored all 11 of his points after halftime, sinking three 3-pointers in 10+ minutes off the bench in the second half. The team went 9-of-12 from 3-point land following the break, with Sean Craig chipping in a pair late in the game.
 
The Greyhounds kept their foot on the gas, outscoring the Panthers on the fast break, 23-7, including a 30-point effort in the paint.
 
INSIDE THE BOX
- The Hounds' 14 triples is the most in a game since the GLVC quarterfinal win on March 2, 2022.
- David Ejah provided 10 points and a team-high seven boards in more than 24 minutes.
- Steinfeld recorded four of the team's seven blocks against Drury, with Ejah adding two.
- Sophomore Ajay Holubar played the final 2+ minutes, scoring three points with a two-point bucket and one free throw.
- UIndy shot 51.8 percent from the floor for the first time this winter, while limiting Drury to a season-low 30.5 field-goal percentage.
 
MORE NOTES
The Hounds up their all-time series lead to 11-9 … Drury's leading scorer this season Juok Riak (14.6 points per game) did not play on Saturday … UIndy recorded 21 assists for the second straight game against Drury (Feb. 16, 2023).
