Box Score KEARNEY, Neb. – The No. 7-ranked University of Indianapolis women's tennis team finished their Nebraska trip with a victory over the No. 5-ranked Flagler Saints by a score of 4-3, with the clincher being the reigning DII Senior Player of the Year
Anna Novikova.

Diane Flament and
Lea Cakarevic, the French connection, was able to get the Hounds started early, scoring a victory out of the No. 3 doubles spot, 6-1. Losing only more game was the reigning ITA DII Midwest champs in
Anna Novikova and
Sofia Sharonova, who won their match 6-2, winning the doubles point for the Hounds.
The Saints, down a point, fought tooth and nail back into the contest, the first win coming at No. 2 singles over
Margarita Andreiuk, evening the match score. They followed that up harshly with a 6-1, 6-2 win over Cakarevic to take the lead. Flament was there to stop the bleeding however, scoring a big 6-4 first set win, her second set was a breeze, winning 6-1.
Aimee Reynoso, however, fell giving the 3-2 lead to the Saints and setting up two do or die matches for the Hounds.
Maria Fiacan won her first set 6-3, and edged out her opponent in the second set for a straight sets victory.
The match came down to the No. 18-ranked Novikova, who battled the No. 6 player in the country in Hrda Luisa. Novi battled a tough tiebreak first set, winning 7-2 in the tiebreaker. The second set, the Kiev, Ukraine-native needed no tiebreak, winning 7-5 to secure the victory for UIndy and to send the Hounds home on a happy note.
