INDIANAPOLIS – The No. 8 UIndy men's lacrosse team (1-0) heated up Key Stadium in frigid temperatures on Saturday afternoon, starting the season with a dominating 21-10 victory over Lake Erie (0-1).

A pair of Hounds made their debut in astounding fashion, with
Triston Schaffer leading all players with seven goals and netminder
KC Carlson making eight saves between the pipes. Joining the newcomers was UIndy mainstay
Drew Billig, who set a new program record in points (13) and assists (9).

UIndy now improves to 6-1 all-time against Lake Erie.

INS & OUTS
The Hounds led for the final 41 minutes of action, with
Owain Braddock putting the home team up for good with his first goal of the spring. The UIndy defense held the Storm scoreless in the third quarter as the offense built an impressive advantage in the second half with nine consecutive goals after the break.

Schaffer capped his marvelous afternoon with under two minutes left in the game, scoring for the seventh time to put the Greyhounds up 21-8, their highest margin of the contest.

Instrumental in the third-quarter success was Carlson, who contributed five of his eight saves after halftime. Billig also tallied six of his 13 points in the frame, scoring twice.

Nick Randgaard netted a hat trick in the victory, while
Sam Arfsten was the lone Greyhound not named Billig to dish out an assist.
