BOLIVAR, Mo – Making their seasonal debut in Great Lakes Valley Conference action, the University of Indianapolis women's soccer team made a show of it, dusting the Southwest Baptist Bearcats by a score of 3-0 to move to 2-2-1 on the season, while the host now sinks to 2-3-1.
The highlight of the three-goal game for the Greyhounds was in the first half with
Faith Dean netting her first goal of her Greyhound career.
INS & OUTS
The majority of the first 45 minutes of action was quiet between the Greyhounds and Bearcats, with neither being able to find an advantage. Dean was the one to break the scoring silence, hammering a ball into the bottom right corner of the net from five feet out.
Antiya Sidibe was tabbed with the assist.
After holding the advantage at the break, the Hounds kept their foot on the gas. After some back-and-forth play for the first twenty minutes,
Sarah Wegener would get fouled the penalty area, lining up the first penalty of the season for UIndy. Wegener took full advantage, slapping it to the bottom right of the goal, past the outstretched hands of the goalie to make it 2-0.
Ending the scoring on the day, the Hounds put together an offensive gem of a possession. Converting on multiple midfield passes and a deflected shot the Bearcat keeper,
Chloe Noon captured the final goal of regulation.
