INDIANAPOLIS—The University of Indianapolis men's golf team welcomed the region's top competition to the UIndy Invitational this week. Hosting the event Monday and Tuesday at Broadmoor Country Club on the city's northwest side, the young Greyhound squad battled to a fourth-place finish behind an all-tournament performance by freshman
Simon Engman.

Sporting a lineup featuring four freshmen and a sophomore, UIndy combined for a 54-hole team score of -1, clearing fifth place by seven strokes. Engman was once again the driving force, as the finished at -7 to take third place and earn all-tournament accolades for the second time as many tournaments.

Engman posted a red number each round, including a stellar 67 in Monday's second round. He racked up 13 birdies on the week, as well as an eagle Tuesday on the par-5 18th hole.

Fellow-freshman
Maverick Conaway also eagled a par 5, as he holed out on No. 9 in the second round on the way to a two-under 70. The Tipton, Ind., product finished at even par for the week to share 14th place.

The remainder of the Hounds' "Crimson" team—
Ben Keil (+5),
Drew Rowen (+6) and
Alexander Nestun (+7)— finished within two stokes of each other.

UIndy also fielded a "Grey" team, with freshman
Caleb Michaels (+3) leading the squad with a top-30 finish. Freshman
Cameron Young (+8) carded a second-round 70, while senior
Bryce Robertson (+15) shot even-par golf on Tuesday.

UP NEXT
The Greyhounds will face off with many of these same opponents at the upcoming Midwest Regional, hosted at The Country Club of St. Albans, Mo., Oct. 9-10.
