ROMEOVILLE, Ill. - The UIndy women's basketball team fell to Lewis, 79-64, on Saturday afternoon. The Greyhounds are now .500 on the season, being 9-9 overall and 6-6 in conference play.
Jada Patton was the key player on the floor for the Hounds. Patton finished with 20 points, going 5-for-8 from the field and 10-of-13 in free throws.Â

UIndy started the contest with two three-pointers made by
Elana Wells and
Liv Becker. This set the tone for the first quarter. The two teams went wire-to-wire, keeping the scores within a few points of each other.Â
The Greyhounds started off the second quarter strong with an 8-2 run but the Flyers were able to rally together. Lewis was able to outscore the Hounds, allowing them to secure the win.

Jodi Mullins and Wells both finished in double-digits. Wells finished with 14 and Mullins had 12 points.Â

Patricia Chikamba was a staple on defense. Chikamba finished with 10 defensive rebounds.Â
- Another important player on defense for the Hounds was
Jada Haines. Haines finished with a season-high three blocks.Â
- UIndy struggled from the field. The team was 20-for-53 in shooting.Â

Kathryn Schmidt was the star on the floor for Lewis. Schmidt finished with 21 points, 13 rebounds, and two blocks, all team highs. ... The Flyers continue to lead the Greyhounds in the all time series, 47-37.

UIndy will continue their road series next weekend. The team will travel to Missouri to face Missouri S&T on Feb. 1 and Maryville on Feb. 3. The games will tip-off at 6:30 and 2 p.m. ET, respectively.
