INS & OUTS
The Greyhounds racked up 19 event wins all told, including three of the four relays. The meet kicked off with the 400 medley relay, as
Cedric Buessing,
Brayden Cole,
Mihir Ambre and
Joao Silva out-touched their Ball State counterparts. Both Greyhound teams won the final event, the 200 free relay.
Leticia Vaselli,
Savannah Mueller,
Stefanie Markwardt and
Isabella Revstedt combined to win the women's race by nearly a second and half, while
Oskar Sawicki,
Aqeel Joseph,
Jeron Thompson and Silva won the men's.
Â
Five Hounds won multiple individual events. The Buessing brothers accounted for a combined five wins, with Cedric touching first in the 200 free, 500 free and 200 IM, and Silas winning both the 100 and 200 back.
Â
Silva dominated the men's sprints, winning the 100 free in 45.36 and the 50 in 20 seconds flat, while
Mia Krstevska won both of the women's backstroke races.
Celina Schmidt won the 200 free before sharing the 500 free win with teammate
Jamie Glover. In her first 500 race of the year, Schmidt's time of 5:00.33 was good for a B-cut standard.
Â
More fresh B-cuts followed, as four other Hounds positioned themselves into NCAA consideration.
Andrea Paaske's winning time of 55.88 in the 100 fly, Revstedt's second-place 51.05 in the 100 free and
Andrea Gomez's third-place mark of 1:52.49 in the 200 free all hit new B cuts on the women's side, while Thompson's runner-up performance of 48.41 in the men's 100 fly did the same.
Â
Brynhildur Traustadottir and Glover went 1-2 in the women's 1650, with both improving existing B-cut times. Other event winners included
Sydney Brandt (100 breast), Gomez (200 IM) and Sawicki (100 fly).
