Hounds Dominate Bulldogs 80-54 in Road Win

KIRKSVILLE, Mo. - The UIndy women's basketball team defeated Truman 80-54, on Wednesday night. The Greyhounds improve to 7-5 and 4-2 in GLVC play.
 
Caroline Jakatis finished the contest with 11 points and 13 rebounds, her first career double-double. Elana Wells also had a significant night on the court. Wells had 23 points; this is her seventh 20-point game.
 
INS & OUTS
The Greyhounds established dominance in the third quarter, with an 11-0 run. The Hounds completed all their shots with four field goals, two 3-pointers, and one free throw. An 11-3 run to end the quarter gave UIndy a 30-point lead to enter the fourth quarter.
 
The Greyhounds quickly established a large lead in the first half. In the first 20 minutes, the Hounds scored 44 points and held the Bulldogs to 29 points.
 
INSIDE THE BOX
- Jada Haines scored 17 points, a season-high. Haines was 5-for-9 from beyond the arc, a team-high for the night. Her accuracy in 3-pointers during the game was also a season-high for the graduate student.
- Ilani Williams-Harris also had a night filled with season highs. Williams-Harris had season highs in minutes (33), points (10), field goals (4-for-9), rebounds (six), assists (five), and steals (5).
- This was the largest win margin for UIndy with 34 points.
- The Greyhounds established new season highs in 3-pointers attempted in made (12-of-26), steals (13), and blocks (11).
 
MORE NOTES
Truman's top player of the night was.Molly Joyce. Joyce had 14 points while being 5-for-15 from the field and 3-of-5 from 3-point territory, all team highs ... The Hounds continue to lead the Dawgs 13-9 in the all-time series. The two teams will face each other again in Indianapolis on Saturday, Feb. 10.
 
UP NEXT
The Greyhounds will return to Nicoson Hall on Saturday to face Maryville. Tip-off is slated for 12:30 p.m.
