HAMMOND, Ind. – The UIndy volleyball team suffered a sweep at the hands of Tiffin on Saturday afternoon, wrapping up the weekend at the 16th annual Midwest Region Crossover.

The Greyhounds and Dragons officially split the season series, as the Crimson and Grey earned a thrilling five-set victory back in September during the UIndy Invitational.

True freshman
Caitlin Blomberg impressed in her only set of action, totaling five kills and one solo block, while fellow rookie
Kelsey McKenney hit .667 from the middle.

INS & OUTS
While it was primarily underclassmen filling the box score, senior
Kayla Guthrie topped the team – with sophomore
Maddie Berger and freshman
Madeline Lynch – with seven kills. Guthrie also accounted for a pair of solo stops and one dig.

The young pups dominated the action in the third set, with Guthrie and setter
Claire Morris the only player older than a sophomore seeing the floor. Blomberg produced immediately, totaling three kills in four Greyhound points.

The freshman attacked at a .455 clip over the course of the frame.

Addyson Viers joined in on the fun, combining for six kills, three blocks, and three digs. On the back line, sophomores
Ellie Spang (13),
Allie Wuestenfeld (9), and
Macy Bruton (7) for nearly 55 percent of the team's digs. Morris scooped up nine Dragon attacks.

UIndy made it interesting in the final frame, hitting .263 and forcing extra points. Facing match point, the Hounds rattled off five consecutive points to knot the score at 24 apiece, including two service aces from Spang.

INSIDE THE BOX
- Freshman
Lizzy Short was efficient in her limited playing time, killing her lone attack attempt and assisting on two blocks.
- Middle-blocker
Riley Laine added four kills and three digs to her one block and one service ace.

Addison Putt saw her first match action in a month, playing in the third set along with rookie
Mia Moser, who tallied one dig.
- Morris was named to the Crossover All-Tournament team following the tournament after leading all players with 11.27 assists/set. The setter dished out 124 helpers over the team's 11 sets of action.
