Tchoua Reaches Milestone in Loss to Truman

INDIANAPOLIS – Kendrick Tchoua became the first seventh Greyhound in program history to reach 800 career rebounds on Saturday, as the UIndy men's basketball team dropped an 85-76 decision to Truman State University.

Tchoua matched a career-high with 27 points, while securing 13 boards in the process.

INS & OUTS
Truman did its best to secure the win in the first half, knocking down 61.3 percent of its field goal attempts and drilling 12 triples to build a 52-32 advantage at the break.

The Greyhounds were forced to make several runs after halftime, with David Ejah hitting a free throw to cut the deficit to 10 less than eight minutes into the period. The Bulldogs kept making plays, however, answering each Greyhound response with a bucket of their own. A jumper from Xavier Hall with under five minutes left stretched the Truman lead back to 16, all but ending any hope remaining.

Tchoua followed a jumper from Jarvis Walker with a putback at the buzzer to end the game with a single-digit loss.

INSIDE THE BOX
- A whopping 11 of Tchoua's 13 rebounds came on the offensive glass.
- Ejah finished with 12 points, including a posterized-dunk early in the first half.
- UIndy outrebounded Truman, 42-21; Sean Craig recorded six in the loss, second on the team behind Tchoua.
- The Greyhounds attempted their second-most free throws of the season with 26.
- Jesse Bingham dished out a team-high four assists, while tallying two blocks and one steal on the defensive end.

MORE NOTES
UIndy now leads the all-time series, 13-6 … Truman upped its season 3-point percentage to 39.8, which ranks second in the GLVC.

HOUND BYTES
Assistant coach Dionte Ferguson on the loss…
"We couldn't string together enough stops to put together a comeback in the second half. We didn't pay enough attention to the details; we weren't as sharp as we were on Thursday."

UP NEXT
The Greyhounds pay a visit to Quincy next Thursday evening, with Paul Zilinskas making his return to Pepsi Arena for the first time since transferring to UIndy. Tip is scheduled for 8:30 ET.
