INDIANAPOLIS – Kendrick Tchoua became the first seventh Greyhound in program history to reach 800 career rebounds on Saturday, as the UIndy men's basketball team dropped an 85-76 decision to Truman State University.
Â
Tchoua matched a career-high with 27 points, while securing 13 boards in the process.
Â
INS & OUTS
Truman did its best to secure the win in the first half, knocking down 61.3 percent of its field goal attempts and drilling 12 triples to build a 52-32 advantage at the break.
Â
The Greyhounds were forced to make several runs after halftime, with
David Ejah hitting a free throw to cut the deficit to 10 less than eight minutes into the period. The Bulldogs kept making plays, however, answering each Greyhound response with a bucket of their own. A jumper from Xavier Hall with under five minutes left stretched the Truman lead back to 16, all but ending any hope remaining.
Â
Tchoua followed a jumper from
Jarvis Walker with a putback at the buzzer to end the game with a single-digit loss.
Â

HOUND BYTES
Assistant coach Dionte Ferguson on the loss…
"We couldn't string together enough stops to put together a comeback in the second half. We didn't pay enough attention to the details; we weren't as sharp as we were on Thursday."
