Offense Secures Greyhound Win Over Cardinals

INDIANAPOLIS - The UIndy women's basketball team snaped a two-game losing streak by defeating William Jewell, 93-86, on Thursday evening. the Greyhounds are now 13-12 on the season and 10-9 in conference play.
 
Jada Haines had another standout performance on the floor finishing with 26 points. Haines was 7-of-15 from the field and 5-for-10 beyond the arc.
 
INS AND OUTS
Going into the second half UIndy was only up by two points. William Jewell quickly went on an 8-0 run to start the half but the Greyhounds fought back. The Hounds went on a 10-point uncontested run to cut the Cardinal comeback. UIndy also finished the third quarter on an 8-2 run. Six of the points came from the free-throw line with three players going 2-for-2.
 


This momentum led the Greyhounds threw the final 10 minutes. In the middle of the fourth quarter, the Hounds went on a 10-3 run. Jada Haines had back-to-back 3-pointers and led the Hounds to their largest lead of the game of 12 points.
 
INSIDE THE BOX
- Jada Patton and Liv Becker also finished in double figures. Both Patton and Becker had 16 points to their name at the end of the night.
- Elana Wells was one point and rebound away from a double-double finishing with nine points and boards.
- Ilani Williams-Harris also stayed close to the action. Williams-Harris finished with a team-high six assists. Wells was not far behind with five.
- As a team, UIndy was able to keep control of the ball finishing the night with only 12 turnovers.
 
MORE NOTES
William Jewel had two players finish with 20 points or more. Ayden Shannon had 25 and Kaye Hillyer had 20. ... The Greyhounds swept the Cardinals in their season series this year. The Hounds continue to lead the all-time series, 10-5. ... This is the first time UIndy has had back-to-back games where they scored 90+ points. The last time this happened was in the 2018-2019 season with wins at Oakland City (103-74) and Purdue Northwest (93-62).
 
UP NEXT
UIndy will welcome Rockhurst to Nicoson Hall on Saturday for their final home game of the season. Before the contest, this year's senior class will be honored. Tip-off is slated for 12:30 p.m.
