EVANSVILE, Ind.—The
top-five-ranked UIndy swimming & diving teams head to Southwestern Indiana this week with eyes on both team and individual GLVC titles. The conference's (and some of the nation's) fastest swimmers and most-talented divers will compete at the
2024 GLVC Men's and Women's Swimming & Diving Championships on Feb. 6-11. A combined total of 21 men's and women's teams will square off at the Deaconess Aquatic Center in Evansville, Ind.
Â
Action starts with the 800 free relay finals Tuesday night at 7 p.m. ET. The standard championship meet format follows, with morning preliminaries (11 ET) and evening finals (6:30 ET) Wednesday through Saturday. In between, the diving competitions will take place at 1:30 p.m. ET every day and will include both prelims and finals with a short break in between.
Â
This year's GLVC Championship meet will be streamed live on the GLVC Sports Network at
GLVCSN.com, but a new pay-per-view pricing model will be utilized. The GLVCSN Android and iOS apps can also be downloaded on your mobile device, while the OTT platforms on Roku, Amazon fireTV, Android TV, and Apple TV are compatible with the GLVCSN app.
Â
GLVC swimming & diving fans will be treated to complete coverage of 14 broadcasts that span 42 events, including 19 finals in swimming and four in diving. Both John Edwards and Mark Mullin return to the headset as play-by-play and color commentators, respectively, while Sara Dayley – who has been part of the GLVCSN team for several other championship broadcasts – joins this event for the first time as an on-deck reporter and the exclusive diving expert. All broadcasts will begin approximately 10 minutes prior to each session.
Â
Last February, UIndy earned its first-ever women's
GLVC trophy, scoring a league-record 1,950 points to top rival Drury University. The Greyhound men, meanwhile, amassed 1,562 points to secure a runner-up finish in the final team standings. All told, UIndy combined for 21 gold medals – 11 women's and 10 men's – on the way to five major awards, including Women's Coach of the Year
Brent Noble and back-to-back Men's Swimmer of the Year
Cedric Buessing.
