Baseball Kicks of World Series Run Sunday

CARY, N.C. – The University of Indianapolis baseball team's journey towards a national title is finally here. The No. 7-seeded Greyhounds are set to make their tournament debut at the USA Baseball Training Complex in Cary, N.C. on Sunday, June 2nd at 6 p.m. ET against No. 2-seed Tampa (48-8, 24-6 SAC).

The Greyhounds punched their ticket to the big dance after winning the Super Regional on the road versus Saginaw Valley State, winning both games by just run. The series victory marks the second year in a row where the Hounds walked into the No. 1 seeds home and left with a pair of victories.

All the games are being played at the beautiful USA Baseball National Training Complex, which has played host for the DII Nationals for nearly a decade.

For those making the trip out to Cary, tickets can be purchased ahead of time at the NCAA website here. But those not making the trip, the entire event is going to be broadcasted live with post-game press conferences for each contest. Here is a direct link to UIndy's contest with Tampa, while here is a link to the full bracket that includes links to every game.

Alongside the NCAA broadcast, UIndy's own WICR 88.7 The Diamond is making out the trip and can be listened to locally in Indianapolis at 88.7 FM or online here. For those who listened to the super regional, you will be in familiar hands the duo of Caden Colford and Jace Hodge on the call for all the contests.

More information for the tournament, the surrounding area and more can be found on the tournament homepage here.
