OWENSBORO, Ky. - The UIndy women's volleyball team downed Lake Superior State and Christian Brothers on day one of the Kentucky Wesleyan Invitational. The Greyhounds now improve to 4-2 on the season. Sophomore
Ellie Spang was a key part of the Greyhounds' two wins, finishing with five aces while also collecting 31 digs.

GAME 1 | UIndy 3, Lake Superior St. 1
The Hounds defeated the Lakers in four close sets, each with a max win margin of five points. UIndy dropped the first set but bounced back to win three in a row.

Madeline Lynch led the Greyhounds in kills with 15 while also tabbing three aces. Lynch hit .229 and did not commit a single error.

Kelsey McKenney hit .538 and grabbed seven kills while on the floor. Setter
Claire Morris had another successful day totaling 33 assists.

UIndy capped their first day at the KWC tournament with a three-set sweep of Christian Brothers.

Spang secured five aces during the contest, including three in a row during the second set. The sophomore also grabbed three digs.

Sophia Parlanti totaled eight kills, with Lynch not far behind with seven.
Lauren Peal and
Macy Bruton had eight digs each during the match.
Riley Laine finished with six kills, hitting .364.

The Greyhound defense held the Pirates to only .089 hitting and two blocks.

UP NEXT
On day two of the KWC Invitational, the Greyhounds will face two in-region rivals, Thomas More and host Kentucky Wesleyan. Up first will be at 10 a.m. ET match at the Owensboro Sportscenter. The Hounds will return to campus to face KWC in their home gym at 7 p.m. ET.
