SHELBYVILLE, Ind. - The UIndy men's and women's cross country teams competed in the Jaguar Invitational on Friday morning. Hosted by IU-Indianapolis, the race took place at the Blue River Memorial Park in Shelbyville, Ind. Five teams competed at the event, including UIndy, Chicago State, Dayton, IU-Indianapolis, and Northern Kentucky.
WOMEN'S RECAP
The Greyhounds took on a 5K, finishing fourth with 123 points. Junior
Emma Gaston was the first finisher for the Hounds in 23rd place, clocking 20:52.4.
Senior
Ellie Lengerich was next for UIndy in 29th place. Lengerich set a new PR, completing the race in 21:55.9
Senior
Trinity Gleitz (23:23.0) and junior
Cloey Simon (23:29.8) finished back-to-back in 36th and 37th, respectively. Rounding out the team was freshman
Jorjia Ferguson in 40th place with a time of 24:06.6.
MEN'S RECAP
The men's team finished in fourth, grabbing 111 points in their 8K race. Junior
Felix Rivet finished inside the top 10 in ninth place. Rivet finished the race in 26:28.4
Sophomore
Josue Le Cadre was behind Rivet in 16th place. In his first race as a Greyhound, Le Cadre clocked 17:00.5.
Freshman
Conyer Wilson was the third Hound to cross the finish line in 25th (27.24.5). Senior
Tom Saint-Juvin (33rd/27:50.3) and freshman
Simeon McIntosh (42nd/28:56.2) rounded out the top five.
UP NEXT
UIndy will head to Louisville, Ky., next to compete in the Live in Lou Classic on Saturday, Oct. 5. Hosted by Bellarmine, the race will take place at E.P. "Tom" Sawyer State Park.
