Brady's Late Game Heroics Push the Hounds Past Upper Iowa

INDIANAPOLIS-  On Sunday, Sep 22, the University of Indianapolis women's soccer team defeated Upper Iowa University 1-0 in Fayette, Iowa. The win moves their record in GLVC play to 2-0-1, and 3-2-1 on the year.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The first half saw the Greyhounds controlling the point of attack, while the Peacocks commanded the physicality, with seven total fouls. The Hounds offense was in the driver's seat, duking out the Peacocks total shots by a 9-3 margin. Shots from Antiya Sidibe, Nicole Schroeder, and Lyza Shamy were all denied by Isabelle Wagner for Upper Iowa. The Hounds' defense held the Peacocks to one shot on goal.

The defensive battle persisted for the majority of the second half, with even more extracurriculars and whistles. Both teams combined for 18 total fouls before the Hounds found a breakthrough. The 19th whistle, at the 75:22 mark,  led to a UIndy free kick in the middle of the pitch. Nicole Schroeder took the kick perfectly, placing it perfectly in front of the box. Stephanie Brady timed her run right in time to receive the ball from Schroeder, and fired a shot past Wagner to give the Hounds a lead late in the match. For the final 15 minutes, the Hounds defense remained impenetrable, holding the Peacocks to zero shots.
