INDIANAPOLIS – The UIndy women's triathlon team hosted a unique event on Saturday, welcoming Drury University and Northern Kentucky University in a Super Sprint followed by multiple relay races.

The Super Sprint consists of nearly half of a standard race, comprising of a 350-yard swim, 10k bike, and 2k run.
Â
Drury began its women's triathlon program in 2018, while Northern Kentucky joined UIndy as first-year competitors in the sport this fall.

The Greyhounds finished second behind Drury in the Super Sprint, as
Lex Wilhelm (30:55) topped the team for the second straight weekend in fourth place.
Gabrielle Harrell crossed just 16 seconds later in sixth, finishing in 31:11.

Hanna Burke and
Ainsleigh Cardone nearly crossed the finish line at the 34-minute mark together to round of the top 10.

Jazmin-Maria Cardona and
Miah Sosenheimer competed as two of the youngest in the race, with
Sydney Rhodehamel sandwiched between her teammates at under 41 minutes.
Katie Dolen recorded the 10th-best bike split among all individuals, while finishing the run in just over 11 minutes.

Originally eighth overall,
Lillian Sunbury finished with a 4:48/18:36/8:25 split.

Following the Super Sprint, UIndy and Drury competed in a series of relays. The Panthers claimed the first two spots, while the Greyhounds' top unit finished in 42:29.

UIndy heads east next Saturday for the Beaver County Tri Cup in Beaver Falls, Pa., hosted by Cardone's former institution Duquesne University.
