BEAVERS FALLS, Pa. – The UIndy triathlon team earned a seventh-place finish on Saturday at the Beaver County Tri Cup hosted by Duquesne University. The Greyhounds also finished third among NCAA DII competition.
 
Navy and Duquesne topped the overall team leaderboard, with Lenoir-Rhyne, East Tennessee State, and Drury rounding out the top five.
 
Geraldine Vazquez (11th, 1:04:51.16) and Abby Poe (20th, 1:05:52.46) turned in top-20 individual performances; more impressively the Greyhound duo each recorded a top-five swim, with Poe second at 9:03.
 
Fellow freshman Darby Cottrell (32nd, 1:07:28.88) crossed the finish line next for the Hounds, while senior Nadia Beran (59th, 1:14:40.56) following nearly seven minutes later. Rounding out the scoring for UIndy was Sydney Rhodehamel (64th, 1:15:14.48), using a 4:43 run pace in the final leg to finish in the top 64.
