PERU, Ind. – The UIndy triathlon team competed in its second race of the fall on Saturday, earning runner-up status at the Mississinewa Collegiate Cup behind NCAA DIII powerhouse North Central College. The race took place at the Miami State Recreation Area just 80 miles north of Indianapolis.

The senior-freshman duo of
Geraldine Vazquez (2nd, 1:07:24) and
Abby Poe (5th, 1:09:54) led the Greyhounds to a second-place team finish.
Nadia Beran (14th, 1:16:06),
Haley Uberta (16th, 1:18:42), and
Darby Cottrell (17th, 1:20:48) rounded out the scoring for UIndy, while
Chelsea Newton (18th, 1:21:20) and
Heidi Bloomer (20th, 1:23:59) also finished in the top 20.

Lilly Joseph and
Sydney Rhodehamel also competed on Saturday, each crossing the finish line in under 90 minutes.

Saturday's results mark the second straight weekend UIndy finished in a higher position than Trine and Chicago State, both of which participated in the Greyhound Splash & Dash last Sunday.

UIndy heads to Beaver Falls, Pa., next weekend for the Beaver County Tri Cup. The Hounds
placed seventh at the event back in 2024 in their inaugural season as a program.
