INDIANAPOLIS – The Greyhounds are set to host the 46th Annual Midwest Classic this weekend in Nicoson Hall and the Ruth Lilly Fitness Center. This year's edition will feature a staggering 21 nationally ranked teams, with 47 total teams set to compete in this weekend's event. 

UIndy comes into this event unranked as a team, but continues to showcase its talent at different weight classes, with four wrestlers ranked inside the Top-20 of the latest The Open Mat rankings; Cale Gray (285), Gavin Garcia (149), Logan Farnell (165), and Nathan Smith (125).

The team is slated to throw some of its best guys out this weekend, reflecting what its lineup looked like against Ashland early this season. The likes of Farnell and Gray have garnered two ranked wins this season, with Gray beating Ashland's No. 9-ranked Wyatt Bailey at the Findlay Open, and Farnell picking up a win against Ashland's No. 5-ranked Nate Barnett.

Garcia has also been off to a strong start, and will look to continue that momentum this weekend. He earned a win in his first showing of the season at the Pioneer Open. Smith has also shined at the Findlay Open with a 5-1 weekend, including a win over Ohio State's Vinny Kilkeary who touts a career 22-7 record for the Buckeyes.

Aidan Sprague (133), Zach Haughton (141), Bryce Doss (157), Shane Bates (165), Christian Chavez (184), and Ethan Farnell (197) will all return to action this weekend as well for the Greyhounds, as they look to best the 28th place team finish from last season's Midwest Classic.
