INDIANAPOLIS – The UIndy baseball team dominated Purdue Northwest, 11-3 today, in a rain soaked nine inning non conference matchup. Austin Bode chalked up two home runs in today's contest, his performance marks the second time this season a player for UIndy has hit two home runs in one game, with Easton Good being the only other player to do so (2/15/25).
But it wasn't just Bode today for UIndy, the whole team it seemed was on base the whole game, racking up 12 hits, and a season high 15 team walks.

The Greyhounds did most of their damage in the first five innings, tallying nine runs in those five frames. Bode got things going in the bottom of the first when he sent Blake Newell's second pitch of the day into deep center field to put UIndy out in front 1-0. UIndy knocked in three more runs in the first with Cole Hampton's two run double down the left field line, and Luke Smock's sac fly to put the Hounds ahead 4-0.
Bode, Chase Mason and Nick Lukac added the Hounds' next five runs in the third and fifth innings. Bode hit his second homer of the day, a two run home run to right field in the third, while Lukac's two run triple and Mason's RBI single put UIndy out in front 9-0.
It wasn't just the bats that were doing all the damage for UIndy today, Grant Kelly made his first career start for the Hounds today, pitching 4.2 innings and only giving up two runs on three hits. Brian Robertson, Dylan Kaminski, Ryan O'Born and Steven Jones all came in for relief of Kelly, and combined to finish the game out with 4.1 innings pitched, seven hits, eight strikeouts and only allowed one run.
The Hounds tacked on two more runs late with Tré Hondras' two run RBI single, to close out the game for UIndy today and give them their 11th win on the year.
