CLEVELAND – Following another successful winter sports season, the University of Indianapolis vaulted into the latest LEARFIELD Directors' Cup Division II standings' top 20, released Thursday morning. The Greyhounds jumped 90 spots from the final fall standings to 16th overall.

The Directors' Cup honors institutions maintaining a broad-based athletics program, achieving success in many sports, both men's and women's, with points awarded based on each institution's finish at NCAA Championships. UIndy is one of only three Division II institutions in the country that can claim an active streak of 16 consecutive top-20 finishes in the final Cup standings.

Five winter programs joined UIndy Football in the scoring column, including both swimming & diving programs combining for 155 points. Additionally, wrestling earned 66 points after an 11th-place finish at nationals, while the track & field programs combined for 111 points.

UIndy's current overall score of 357 points puts it second among all GLVC schools, behind Lewis University (445 pts, 5th place). Other GLVC members also in the top 50 are McKendree University (333.25 points, 19th place) and Drury University (254 points, 28th place). Grand Valley State (817.25) tops all of DII by a wide margin, outscoring second-place Wingate University (542) by a whopping 275.25 points.
