GREENSBORO, N.C. – UIndy baseball's head coach Al Ready has continued to grow his impressive resume with the Greyhounds, earning his third consecutive ABCA/ATEC NCAA Division II Midwest Region Coach of the Year honors.

Ready becomes just the second coach since the ABCA/ATEC began awarding this honors in 2003 to win the Midwest Region Coach of the Year three straight times. Grand Valley State's, Steve Lyon earned the award three straight times from 2003-2005. 

Along with being the second head coach since 2003 to win three straight times, he is only the fourth GLVC manager to earn the Midwest Region Coach of the Year. Illinois-Springfield's Ryan Copeland (2023), Quincy's Josh Rabe (2017), and Truman's Dan Davis (2015) are the other three GLVC skippers.
 
The magic number three, also represents the number of consecutive Midwest Super Regional appearances the Greyhounds' team has made after their 2025 run. UIndy went 34-24 overall, with a 20-11 GLVC record. The Hounds found more success in the NCAA Tounrnament, as they went 4-2 including two dominating wins over No. 1-seeded Davenport, 25-13 and 6-1, in the NCAA DII Midwest Regional.

The 2024 ABCA/ATEC National Coaches of the Year in all divisions will be announced on Wednesday, June 25.
 
The ABCA/ATEC Regional Coaches of the Year are selected by members of the ABCA All-America & Coach of the Year Committees in all nine divisions: NCAA Divisions I, II and III, NAIA, NJCAA Divisions I, II and III, Pacific Association Division and high school.

Founded in 1945, the American Baseball Coaches Association is the primary professional organization for baseball coaches at the amateur level. Its over 15,000 members represent all 50 states and 41 countries. Since its initial meeting of 27 college baseball coaches in June 1945, Association membership has broadened to include nine divisions: NCAA Division I, II and III, NAIA, NJCAA, Pacific Association Division, High School, Youth and Travel.
