INDIANAPOLIS – UIndy men's basketball head coach
Scott Heady announced the promotion of
Sean Howard to assistant coach on Wednesday after serving as a graduate assistant during the 2024-25 season.
The Greyhounds went 15-13 in Howard's first season on the bench, earning a win over perennial NCAA tournament contender
Kentucky Wesleyan in the process. UIndy also earned its
first road win over a ranked opponent in nearly four years, knocking off No. 19 Hillsdale in December.
Howard mentored a pair of
All-GLVC performers a season ago, as
Dashawn Jackson earned second-team honors and
Tucker Tornatta was selected to the All-Freshman squad.
An Indianapolis native, Howard was an assistant coach at his alma mater Lawrence North for six seasons before joining Heady's staff. As the junior varsity head coach, Howard led LN to an impressive 48-12 record over three seasons. Prior to his coaching career, Howard played collegiately at DII Lake Erie College, where he graduated ranked 14th in scoring and fifth in career 3-pointers. Howard graduated in 2017 with a degree in Sports Management.
