CEDARVILLE. Ohio— The Greyhounds picked up two three-set wins on day one of the Cedarville Invitational, Friday night.
UIndy improved its record to 5-1 while notching two wins.The Hounds won two sets by at least nine points against D'Youville University out of Buffalo, New York, and invitational host and in-region opponent Cedarville University. Freshman setter Carly Fonda was perfect on the attack on the day, with zero errors and 12 kills on 13 attempts.

The Hounds went on a 12-3 run in set one, to make the score 13-7 in favor of UIndy. The Saints stuck around, scoring four of the match's final 6 points, before two kills from Paige Parlanti and Kaitlin Fasbender secured the first set 25-12 for the Greyhounds. The Greyhounds only allowed their opponent eight points in the third set, scoring the final nine points of the finale. Sophomore Maddie Lynch recorded six of her 13 kills in this set. UIndy recorded 11 service aces in their first match of the day, which is the highest the program has seen since September 20, 2024. Junior Macy Bruton scooped up 15 digs for the Hounds, while Lynch led the attack with 13 kills for the squad.

UIndy took sets one and two against Cedarville, 25-16, 25-18, before the Yellow Jackets almost forced the match into a fourth set. The two squads saw six lead changes, with the Hounds escaping with a 25-23 win in the final set of the day. Parlanti had another stellar performance for the Hounds, hitting .400 with 16 kills on 30 attempts, and scooped up 10 digs for the squad. Bruton tied her career-high 20 digs to lead the Hounds on the defensive end. While Lynch saw double-digit kills for the fifth match this season, grabbing 16 for the Greyhounds.
