INDIANAPOLIS - The UIndy men's soccer team cruised to a win in their conference opener against Truman, 3-0. The Greyhounds had at least three different goal scorers, for the second time in as many games.
This is also the 11th time in 13 matches between the two sides that the Greyhounds have come on top. The other two results were a draw in 2016 and a 3-2 win for Truman in 2018.
HOW IT HAPPENED
This one was all UIndy from the jump, as the Hounds created chance after chance in the first half. The Greyhounds recorded six chances on goal, five were saved by Truman's Owen Robben, and Colin Elder's chance in the sixth minute rang off the crossbar.
Jona Hogle finally found the Hounds' breakthrough moment in the dying second of the first half, when Lucas Bedleg's cheeky flick put Hogle in behind the defense, where he rifled home a right footed shot past Robben to give Uindy the 1-0 lead headed to the half.

The second half was much of the same for UIndy, as the team created another seven chances, leading to two more goals.
August Abrahamsen grabbed his first goal of the season in the 60th minute, when his first time effort on a cross from
Joey Longo zipped past the outstretched arm of Robben to double the Hounds' lead.
The captain,
Gio Terlizzi, added the third for UIndy when he buried a shot first time from outside the 18-yard box, just four minutes later to give the Hounds a 3-0 lead.

Keerti Unnamatla stopped the only real Truman chance of the second half with 11 seconds left, securing the shutout, 3-0 win for UIndy.
