INDIANAPOLIS - The UIndy women's soccer team dropped its second game of a two game GLVC homestand against Quincy on Sunday, 2-0.
Sunday was also senior day for the nine 2025-26 UIndy seniors; Antiya Sidibe, Izzie Wallace, Kendall Ellis, Lyza Shamy, Maria White, Morgan Peters, Rochelle Maxson, Sukhmani Shergill, and Zy'Aire Parker.
This is Quincy's first win against the Greyhounds since a 2-0 win in 2017.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Hawks capitalized on the game's first chance of the game on a shot from Quincy's Rebecca Rheinheimer that beat White on the near post to give Quincy the 1-0 lead after four minutes.
Quincy doubled their advantage 20 minutes later when Olivia Nelson's lofted effort got past White on an assist from Alayna Vela.
UIndy struggled to create opportunities in the first half, as the team only mustered two shots in total after 45 minutes, with the best of the two chances being a Nicole Schroeder free kick effort that ended up high and wide of the goal.
The Hounds made a change at keeper to begin the second half, with Ellis making her return in net for the Hounds, and coming up with a big save in the 62nd minute to keep the deficit at two for UIndy.
Lyza Shamy and Hannah Magruder in the 79th and 81st minute, picked up the Hounds' best two chances of the match to that point. Shamy's effort off a corner kick hit the top of the crossbar, while Magruder's effort was saved by a diving effort from Quincy's Devin Tracy.
With no real attacks from either side in the final nine minutes, the Hawks wrapped this one up with a 2-0 win over UIndy.
