INDIANAPOLIS – The UIndy women's tennis team unravels its 2026 schedule. Marshalled by 14th-year head coach Malik Tabet, the Greyhounds commence the new year with a home dual against Rockhurst, with the match set for Jan. 30 at 6 PM in the UIndy Tennis Center.
The Hounds return five players from last year's Regional Finalist squad. UIndy ended the season with a 13-7 record, finishing ranked No. 4 in the Midwest Region and No. 50 in the nation by the ITA. They return 2025 All-GLVC First Team members Jimena De Pablos Hernando and Sofia Cardenas, while adding Magda Kornijczuk and Maelys Thiery-James, who rank 3rd in the Midwest Region's doubles rankings.
Highlighting the first stretch of the new season is the 2026 ITA National Team Indoor Championship, beginning Feb. 13th at the UIndy Tennis Center. The prestigious tournament invites the top team in DII tennis, headlined by No. 1 Barry University.
In all, the Hounds will play 13 of their 19 regular-season matches on home soil, before hosting the 2026 GLVC Championship Tournament Friday, May 1.
