INDIANAPOLIS – The UIndy football team celebrated Homecoming Saturday night with an emphatic 48-14 win versus Missouri S&T. The Greyhounds racked up a season-high point total in front of the Key Stadium crowd and have now won 17 of their last 19 Homecoming contests.

UP NEXT
UIndy returns to the road when it travels to Jefferson City, Mo., for a meeting with the Lincoln Blue Tigers on Saturday, Oct. 17. Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m. Eastern.

INS & OUTS
The Hounds employed several lengthy touchdown strikes to build a sizable margin before halftime. After the defense got a stop to start the game, the UIndy offense got on the board on their first possession when junior QB
Nick Patterson found a streaking
Anthony Crowell for a 54-yard score.
Â
Later the Hounds employed a bit of trickeration to cash in from 38 yards out. On a fake double-reverse / flea flicker call (yeah that's right), Patterson let it fly and found redshirt-sophomore
Cayden Olinger in the end zone to up the score to 24-7 Hounds.
Â
Another defensive stop followed, setting up a game breaker from Crowell just before the half. The reigning GLVC Special Teams Player of the Year, Crowell broke off a giant punt return, fielding the ball at the Greyhound 28-yard line and taking it all the way back for his second career punt return TD.
Â
Mixed in with the first-half action was a two-yard touchdown reception by
Garrett Sherrell and a pair of field goals from freshman kicker
Zach Hermanson, as the Hounds found themselves up 34-7 at the midway point.
Â
In the third quarter, UIndy added another touchdown—a 10-yard TD catch by
Kaleb Carver—to go up 41-7 before the Miners finally ended their 36-minute scoring drought. The Hounds' final scoring drive spanned the early part of the fourth quarter, with
Juseters Fataki's two-yard TD plunge capping an eight-play, 43-yard drive.
Â
INSIDE THE BOX
- The UIndy defense forced as many S&T punts (7) as points allowed (7) in the first half. It ultimately allowed just 33 yards rushing and less than four yards per play on the night.
- Crowell's 72-yard punt return TD was good for UIndy's longest since Daveon Bell's 81 yarder versus Quincy in October of 2019. Crowell finished with 155 all-purpose yards on the night and has now moved into the top 20 in the UIndy career receiving yards annals.
- Patterson notched his first 300-yard passing game as a Greyhound, finishing 24-for-39 for 329 yards and four touchdowns. He also led the team with 76 rushing yards on 10 attempts.
- Redshirt-freshman
Arty Bryant was credited with a team-high 3.0 tackles for a loss, including a seven-yard sack.
