INS & OUTS
The Greyhounds got off to a hot start to quickly build a hefty margin. The first half saw the UIndy offense score on all five of its possessions while the defense forced and recovered a pair of Lincoln fumbles, helping put the score at 31-7 by the halftime.
Â
Two of UIndy's four first-half scores came in unconventional ways. Offensive lineman
Kenny Guinhouya pounced on a fumble in the end zone for six points, and just over a minute later, running back
Caiden Verrett threw his first career touchdown pass, finding
Cayden Olinger from 10 yards out.
Â
The Blue Tigers sandwiched the halftime break with touchdown drives, but that represented the extent of the home team's scoring output. UIndy took over from there, and just four snaps into the their first drive of the second half, QB
Nick Patterson uncoiled a knockout punch with a perfect 64-yard touchdown strike to senior
Giovani Laurent. The Lincoln offense would not cross midfield the rest of the way.

INSIDE THE BOX

- Verrett's TD pass marked the first by a Greyhound non-QB since wideout
Alonzo Derrick tossed one in November of 2024.       Â
-
DeBrince Johnson earned a fourth-quarter INT to put the Tigers to bed. It was the third pick of the year for the fourth-year corner, giving him sole possession of the team lead.
-
Anthony Crowell tacked on an 18-yard touchdown catch late in the third quarter, while
Kaleb Carver needed just three grabs to compile a game-best 78 receiving yards.
- Freshman
Zach Hermanson was perfect on place kicks, going 2-for-2 on field goal tries and connecting on all six extra-point attempts.
- UIndy punted just one time all afternoon.
