PAINESVILLE, Ohio — The University of Indianapolis secured a decisive 12-5 victory over Lake Erie College on Saturday, maintaining its undefeated record. The Greyhounds dominated the second quarter with a six-goal surge, solidifying their lead.

Indianapolis began the first quarter with a strong offensive display.
Tanner Hahm scored the opening goal just 57 seconds into the game, setting the pace for the visitors. Following a successful faceoff by
Jonah Koehler, the Greyhounds continued to press Lake Erie's defense, though several attempts were saved by the home team's goalie, Noah Beckett.
Midway through the quarter,
Mike Rettberg extended the Greyhounds' lead with another goal, putting them up 2-0. Lake Erie struggled to capitalize on their opportunities, with Aj Preachuk making crucial saves for the visitors. Despite multiple attempts from both teams, the quarter closed with the Greyhounds maintaining a 2-0 advantage.
In the second quarter,
Matt Pereira scored early at 14:09 with an assist from Hahm, extending the lead. Following that,
Nick Luitwieler found the net at 10:22, assisted by
Connor Magin, further bolstering the visitor's advantage.
The momentum continued as
Mitchell Carik scored at 5:34, assisted again by Hahm.
Keegan Laughlin added another goal at 4:34, prompting a timeout from Lake Erie. Magin and
Mason Rockley contributed additional goals at 3:33 and 2:58, respectively, widening the gap.
Despite a late man-up goal by Lake Erie's Naythan Zurowski with one second remaining, the Greyhounds maintained control, closing the quarter with an 8-1 lead over Lake Erie.
The Greyhounds started the third quarter with a successful faceoff by
TJ Reddington, but despite consistent offensive efforts, they struggled to convert opportunities into goals. Lake Erie capitalized on a man-down situation early in the quarter, with Billy Coughlin scoring to narrow the gap. Indianapolis continued to press but faced strong defensive play from the home team, including multiple saves by Lake Erie's goalkeeper Noah Beckett.
As the quarter progressed, Lake Erie managed to find the net again with a goal from Robert Weil, further closing the score difference. The Greyhounds maintained pressure, leading to several shot attempts, but accuracy remained elusive. The quarter concluded with the Greyhounds unable to score, leading to a score of 8-3, with Lake Erie reducing the deficit heading into the final quarter.
The Greyhounds started the fourth quarter by winning the faceoff, which led to an immediate goal by Magin, assisted by Hahm, extending their lead. Indianapolis capitalized on Lake Erie's turnovers, with Rockley scoring another goal to further increase the advantage.
Continuing their offensive momentum, the Greyhounds added two more goals with Laughlin and Hahm each finding the back of the net. Lake Erie managed to respond with two late goals by Weil and Zurowski, but it was not enough to close the gap.
As the quarter concluded, the Greyhounds maintained a strong lead, finishing with a 12-5 victory.
