INDIANAPOLIS — The UIndy baseball team fell to Rockhurst in a high-scoring contest, losing 12–10 at Bill Bright Field on Sunday. The Greyhounds made a strong offensive effort with two home runs and five stolen bases, but it was not enough to overcome Rockhurst's 18-hit performance.

Ryker Hughes started the game for UIndy, pitched 1 inning and allowing 4 earned runs on 4 hits while striking out 1.
Griffin Hallahan followed with a longer outing, pitching 5 1/3 innings, giving up 6 earned runs on 9 hits, and recording 4 strikeouts.
Brayden Gum, in his brief appearance, faced three batters without recording an out, allowing 1 run on 1 hit and a hit batter.
Ryan O'Born provided some stability in relief, tossing 1 2/3 innings without allowing an earned run, striking out 1, and yielding just 1 hit. Finally,
Drake Downing closed out the game, pitching 1 inning with 1 earned run on 3 hits and striking out 2.
UIndy and Rockhurst engaged in a high-scoring contest, with significant action starting in the first inning. Rockhurst took an early 3-0 lead as Afton Koch scored on Dakota Hanna's single, followed by Michael Laudando and Hanna crossing the plate on Avery Garmon's single. The Greyhounds responded with a five-run rally.
Garrett Rusch singled and later scored on a sacrifice fly by
Gavin Duran.
Brayton Bowen and
Chase Mason also crossed the plate, and
Jack Kerno's RBI single brought in Mason.
Luke Smock reached on an error, allowing two more runs to score, putting Indianapolis ahead 5-3 after the first inning.
The second inning saw Rockhurst tie the game with three more runs, including a sacrifice fly by Afton Koch and an RBI double by Michael Laudando. The Greyhounds regained the lead when Rusch scored on Bowen's ground out, ending the inning at 6-6.
Rockhurst edged ahead in the fourth with a single run from Laudando's score on Luke Schultz's single, bringing them to a 7-6 advantage. Indianapolis evened the score at 7-7 in the fifth inning, thanks to a solo home run by Duran.
In the seventh inning, Rockhurst surged with a four-run rally, highlighted by a two-RBI single from Colton Wemhoff, giving them an 11-7 lead. Indianapolis responded in the eighth inning as Rusch and
Nathan Jessup scored on
Solen Munson's two-run homer.
Carter Thomas then tripled but was left stranded, narrowing the gap to 11-10 by the end of the inning.
Rockhurst added an insurance run in the ninth when Wemhoff scored, securing their 12–10 victory over the Greyhounds.
Rusch had a standout performance, going 3-for-5 at the plate and scoring three runs. Duran contributed significantly with a home run, driving in two runs in the process. Thomas showcased his hitting ability with three hits, including a double and a triple, while scoring once. Munson delivered a powerful display with a home run and two RBIs in his two at-bats.
