SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — The No. 9 UIndy softball team completed a perfect weekend with a doubleheader sweep at Drury University Sunday afternoon. Winners of their last nine games, the Greyhounds turned away the Panthers with wins of 5-4 and 3-1. Senior
Shelby Cook notched a single in game one to record her 200th base hit for the Crimson & Grey.

The Greyhounds continue a busy stretch of 10 games in eight days with a pair of mid-week, non-conference, in-region twin bills. UIndy hosts Purdue Northwest—a team it
no-hit earlier this season—on Tuesday, March 31 before a quick turnaround with a road date at Thomas More the next day.
GAME 1 | UIndy 5, Drury 4Â
Cook joined the 200-hit club in the third inning, as her RBI single helped fuel a three-run rally. The Murphysboro, Ill., native became just the 16th player in program history to reach the milestone.

The Hounds would find themselves up 5-1 lead and held off a late Drury surge in the one-run win. The host Panthers slowly clawed their way back with single runs in the third, fifth and sixth, and later put the potential tying and winning runs on base in the seventh. But with one out and runners on first and second,
Cheyenne Eads came up big, inducing an outfield fly and an infield pop to secure the win. Eads, last year's GLVC Freshman of the Year, scattered eight hits and three walks in the hard-fought win, upping her record to 16-1 on the season.
Junior
Cara Cooper had a team-high three hits, including a double. Sophomore
Josie Jager managed a run-scoring triple and an RBI single, and Eads went 2-for-2 with a walk and two ribbies.
GAME 2 | UIndy 3, Drury 1
Freshman pitcher
Caitlin Bunte surrendered a lone run in the fourth to move to 15-1 in her rookie campaign. She allowed six hits and walked zero, good for her 12th straight start with one or fewer walks.
UIndy's three runs proved more than enough support, with
Maya Rodriguez (single) and
Brooklyn Willis (sac fly) earning RBIs. Cooper remained hot, notching two hits to finish the day 5-for-8 at the plate; while
Paige Vickery had a single, a double and a walk.
