INDIANAPOLIS — The UIndy softball team earned the No. 1 spot in the latest NCAA Division II Midwest Regional rankings, released Wednesday. GLVC-rival McKendree came in at No. 2, followed by defending Midwest-champ Saginaw Valley at third.
Â
When the full NCAA field is announced May 11, the region's top eight teams will be paired off into two double-elimination tournaments, held on campus sites May 14-16. The winners of two sub-regionals will advance to face off in a best-of-three Super Regional May 21-22 to determine the Midwest's representative at the 2025 NCAA DII Softball Championships, held in
Chattanooga, Tenn., on May 28-June 3.
Â
Having qualified for each of the last 17 NCAA regionals, the Greyhounds boast the longest active postseason streak in the Midwest. They captured three regional crowns in that span, most recently in 2024.
