ROMEOVILLE, Ill. — UIndy secured an 8–4 victory over Lewis on Thursday at Brennan Field. The Greyhounds scored four runs in both the fifth and seventh innings, which proved decisive in the outcome.
Aidan Pearson pitched five innings, allowing three earned runs on five hits while striking out four batters.
Griffin Hallahan followed with three innings of relief, yielding one run on three hits, with a strikeout.
Drake Downing closed the game, striking out three in his inning of work, while allowing a hit.
INS & OUTS
Lewis jumped out to an early lead in the first inning, scoring three runs. Constantine Coins scored on a sacrifice fly by Alex Chaltin. Jimmy Spellman came home on a fielder's choice, and John Henry Russell added another run with an RBI double to right center. Lewis led 3–0 after one inning.
UIndy responded in the fifth inning with a four-run surge.
Garrett Rusch walked and was driven in by
Carter Thomas with a single.

Brayton Bowen capped the inning with a two-RBI single, bringing home

In the seventh inning, the Hounds extended its lead with another four-run inning. Bowen hit a grand slam to right field, scoring
Chase Mason, Perry, and Bode. This extended UIndy's advantage to 8–3 after seven innings. Lewis added a run in the eighth inning when Tylor Phommachanhom doubled and scored on a sacrifice fly by Coins. The score stood at 8–4 in favor of the Greyhounds after eight innings.
