INDIANAPOLIS - University of Indianapolis Volleyball Head Coach
Haley Case announced the addition of
Bailey Schnell as Assistant Coach on Tuesday.Â
Â
An Indianapolis native, Schnell most recently served as the head coach of Perry Meridian High School, where she led all aspects of the varsity program, including player development, training sessions, and promoting academic achievement and character development among student-athletes.
"I am so grateful and extremely excited for the opportunity to coach the amazing student athletes at UIndy," said Schnell. "Volleyball is my favorite thing in the world and Indy is my home so this opportunity means the world to me."
Â
Schell has experience at all levels of volleyball, including professional, collegiate, and club. Schnell graduated from Western Michigan in 2019 following a two-year playing career, earning MAC All-Freshman Team and Academic All-MAC honors. The outside hitter averaged 2.27 kills and 1.55 digs per set her final season.
Â
Schnell's final two seasons as an undergraduate were spent on the Western Michigan bench, assisting the coaching staff with daily operations and practice implementation. She also assisted with video breakdown, scouting preparation, and equipment management.
"We are incredibly excited to welcome Bailey to the Greyhound Pack," said Case. "As an Indy native, she brings an unmatched passion for our community and a competitive spirit that perfectly aligns with our culture. Her success both as a player and a coach is a testament to her relentless work ethic and unwavering drive to be the very best."
Â
Prior to Perry Meridian, Schnell served as an assistant coach at Cathedral High School in Indianapolis. Cathedral won the sectional title in 2023, as Schnell assisted with in-game coaching, scouting, and player development.
Â
Schnell also worked as the inaugural Director of Volleyball Operations for the Indy Ignite, coordinating day-to-day operations for the professional organization. Schnell managed travel logistics, facilitated communication between team and front office, and assisted coaching staff with administrative and organizational responsibilities.Â
Â
"Bailey is deeply committed to investing in our student-athletes as people first, helping them grow as competitors, leaders, and individuals," Case continued. "Her ability to build meaningful relationships while inspiring excellence will have a lasting impact on our program."
Â
Schnell currently serves as the head coach for Team Indiana Volleyball Club, training and developing elite-level athletes for regional and national competition. As head coach, Schnell assists athletes in their respective college recruiting process, while providing individualized player evaluations and development plans.
Â
Schnell concluded: "I can't wait to get in the gym with our athletes and start competing at this level."Â Â
