INDIANAPOLIS - The UIndy men's soccer team kicked off their season with a 0-0 draw at No. 21 Cedarville University. 

This is the first season opener tie since head coach Gabe Hall's first game at the helm of UIndy in a 2-2 draw vs. No. 15 Lake Erie in 2022.

The Greyhounds found the first shot of the defensive battle in the third minute courtesy of Hugo Paturel before both teams waited for the first shot on target to come in the 23rd minute. Rick Lammerts, in his UIndy debut, stopped the Yellow Jackets' strike with the first save of the season. Cedarville then sent in two shots and four corner kicks between the 23rd and 25th minutes of action, but the score remained even at zero.

The Hounds looked for a response of their own and fired their first shot on goal via Shayne Abrams that led to a UIndy corner kick and another shot on goal that was stifled by the Cedarville goalkeeper

As the game approached halftime both offenses quelled and came to a halt after the break with neither side finding a shot on goal after the halftime whistle.

The Greyhounds closed the contest with eight shots, two shots on goal, three corner kicks and one save. 

UIndy will return to action in their home opener at Key Stadium on Sunday, Aug. 30 at 2 p.m. against Lake Erie, a team UIndy is 3-1-2 against in their six previous meetings.
