INDIANAPOLIS - The UIndy men's soccer team picked up their second home win of the season in their 2-1 victory against William Jewell.

The offense for the Greyhounds came to play from the opening kickoff with Alejandro Zuniga bulldozing his way towards the goal early in the matchup with a shot on goal just four minutes in. 

Soon after the Greyhounds opened the game off of an excellent run by Shayne Abrams that he finished to find his first goal as a Greyhound. On the assisting end of the goal was Joey Longo and Saul Greenwood who excellently lined up consecutive through balls to find the Canadian forward in the box.

However, the Greyhounds didn't have much time to celebrate as the Cardinals swiftly responded with a high-bouncing, sequence of passes and moves to find an equalizer just four minutes later in the 16th minute.

After the game was moved back even so did the possession with each team trading bouts in the midfield and the opposing teams half over the course of the final 30 minutes of the first half.

Once the second half swung around, so did the UIndy offense, and their leading goal scorer, Joey Longo. Longo entered the matchup having scored in each game of conference play in the 2026 campaign and that continued 70 seconds into the second half. 

After the lead taking goal strike the Hounds' offense only further ramped up with multiple shots coming in between the 50th and 52nd minutes of action.

As the lead stayed the physicality grew between the two sides with freekicks, throw-ins and eventually cards piling up over the final thirty minutes of the competition.

UIndy finished with the same number of shots as the Cardinals with 13, but led in shots on goal with eight with the number of quality attempts proving to be the difference in the matchup.

With the win, UIndy's home record moves to 2-0 and GLVC record is now 1-1-1. The Hounds will return to action against the University of Missouri St. Louis Wednesday, Sept. 16 at 5 p.m. in Key Stadium.
