Greyhounds Fall at Home

INDIANAPOLIS - The UIndy men's soccer team stumbled in their 2-0 loss to the Maryville University Saints.

The Greyhounds found themselves in an advantageous position early with Owen Hardy finding a shot in the fourth minute in his second start of the season, but he shot trailed just off frame.

The two teams then traded possession over the first 30 minutes which almost led to a UIndy goal in the 29th minute on an excellent attempt from Hugo Paturel that just missed as it ricocheted off the right post.

After the attempt by Paturel the Saints marched down the field to find the first goal of the game off a set piece to go up 1-0.

Maryville found some more life after the goal, converting again around 10 minutes later after a clearance attempt by the Greyhounds, leaving the score at 2-0 entering half.

At the conclusion of the first half both teams only combined for seven shots and two shots on goal.

The Greyhounds looked for answers in the second half, but struggled to break through the crowded midfield despite the efforts of Alejandro Zuniga, Joey Longo and others.

In the end, the Hounds were unable to climb back, but they will look forward to their road matchup against Missouri S&T on Saturday, October 3rd at 3:30 p.m.
