INDIANAPOLIS- University of Indianapolis senior Beth Robbins etched her name in the Greyhound volleyball record books Friday by becoming the school's all-time leader in assists. The Cincinnati, Ohio native racked-up 34 helpers and five digs to lift the Greyhounds to a 25-13, 25-17, 25-21 win against division-rival Bellarmine at the Ruth Lilly Center.

Robbins needed just one assist to reach the milestone as she entered the night tied for the mark, but Friday's opponents traded nine points before Robins would break it. In the meantime, the co-captain staked the Hounds to a 5-0 lead on her opening service turn, with one of the points coming on an ace.

The Knights (6-14, 6-7 GLVC) scored four straight to pull within one before Robbins earned an assist on each of the next four UIndy points to end the suspense.  Immediately after her first assist, play was stopped briefly as Robbins received a rose from Head Coach Jody Butera.

Ultimately, the Greyhounds allowed just 13 points in the first set and went on the convincing 25-13 win. The home team tallied an efficient .433 team hitting percentage in the opener, its highest of the match.

Set two was the only one the Knights managed to lead. BU last led 10-9 before the Hounds surged with a 16-5 run to close the set and earn a two-sets-to-none edge.

Bellarmine remained in striking distance through much of the third set but the Greyhounds proved too much and eventually netted the sweep win.

Outside hitters Lyndsay Callahan and Cheneta Morrison fueled the Greyhound attack by combining for 22 kills and a .444 hitting percentage. Callahan supplemented her offense with nine digs while Morrison added six digs and two block assists.

Freshman Courtney Anglemyer hit .529 for the match, thanks in part to zero attack errors. Junior libero Kyleigh Turner totaled a match-high 14 digs, while junior Jessica Breeden finished with six kills, four digs and three blocks.

UIndy stays home to face one of its biggest rivals Saturday as the Hounds host the 25th-ranked Northern Kentucky Norse in a 3 pm match.

Note: Robbins set the new assists record by surpassing the 4,392 career assists of former Greyhound and current UIndy assistant coach Deanna Williams (2001-04).
