No. 21 Lewis takes marathon match

ROMEOVILLE, Ill.- In a match-up of nationally-ranked squads, the 25th-ranked University of Indianapolis finished on the short end of a grueling five-set at Neil Cary Arena Saturday afternoon.  UIndy fell 26-24, 21-25, 25-19, 19-25, and 15-9 to the 21st-ranked team in Division II, Lewis University, in a contest that lasted just over two hours.

Saturday's teams finished with nearly identical hitting percentages for the match, but the Flyers (26-6, 14-1 GLVC) hit a blistering .409 in the decisive fifth set.  LU killed 10 of its 22 attack attempts with only one error in the frame and finished on a 10-4 run to secure the win.

Two Hounds notched double-doubles, as Beth Robbins amassed 57 assists and 10 digs while Lyndsay Callahan had 10 kills and 16 digs.  Sophomore Cheneta Morrison compiled a match-high 15 kills, seven digs and two blocks while junior Kyleigh Turner led all players with 27 digs.

UIndy (25-8, 12-4) has just two regular-season matches remaining, starting with its final home contest Tuesday.  The Hounds host Saint Joseph's Tuesday night at 7 pm.
