ROMEOVILLE, Ill.- The ninth-ranked University of Indianapolis volleyball team secured its 33rd win of the season Friday with a sweep over Drury in the opening round of the 2009 Great Lakes Valley Conference Tournament. The victory not only earned UIndy its eighth straight GLVC Tourney semifinal appearance but also tied the program record for wins in a season.
With the scored tied at three in the opener, the Greyhounds went on a 10-1 run to take full command of the set. The Hounds had three blocks and three aces in the frame while holding the Panthers to a mere .081 hitting percentage. Outside hitters
Kristina Kerrigan and
Lyndsay Callahan garnered 20 of the Greyhounds' 34 first-set attack attempts, as the two combined for seven kills.

Indianapolis received a lot of support from its trio of all-conference first teamers. Callahan had five of her team-high 10 kills in the pivotal second set,

Kyleigh Turner led all players with 17 digs.
