Hounds earn sweep in final road match

RENSSELAER, Ind.- The 10th-ranked University of Indianapolis volleyball team continued its march to the postseason with a 25-22, 25-22, 25-20 win at St. Joseph's College Tuesday night.  The Greyhounds upped their win streak to 17 with only one match remaining in the regular season.

The Hounds won a shootout in the opener, as both teams hit an even .500 in the frame.  The Pumas (12-18, 6-7 GLVC) came back to Earth from there, however, hitting just .123 the rest of the way compared to the Hounds' combined percentage of .292 in sets two and three.

Freshman Kristina Kerrigan led the Greyhounds with 11 kills while adding two block assists.  Sophomore Courtney Anglemyer hit .381 with 10 kills and two blocks, Cheneta Morrison garnered 35 assists, and senior Kyleigh Turner had a match-high 15 digs.

With no Friday match scheduled, UIndy (31-1, 12-1) wraps up the 2009 regular season at home Saturday afternoon versus Maryville.  Start time is scheduled for 3 p.m.
