AURORA, Ill.- In its third win versus a ranked opponent this year, the No. 20 UIndy volleyball team (17-6) swept past 13th-ranked Northern Michigan Saturday in its final match at the third-annual GLVC/GLIAC Crossover Volleyball Tournament. The Greyhounds have won eight in a row and are now 7-2 all-time at the Crossover.
Both teams were 2-0 at the Crossover heading into Saturday, with UIndy representing the GLVC's third seed and Northern Michigan (17-1) the GLIAC's number two. The loss was NMU's first of the season.
UIndy dominated the first and third sets, allowing just 30 points combined and out-hitting the Wildcats .364 to .038.
In the closest set of the match, the second frame featured four lead changes and nine ties. UIndy fell behind 7-3 early, but later used a 4-0 run to take control at 19-16 and, ultimately, for good.
Courtney Anglemyer had nine kills and a .643 hitting percentage, while fellow middle
Hannah Kelzer recorded four blocks.
Kristina Kerrigan had a team-high 11 kills and all-tourney-performer
Cheneta Morrison registered 35 assists, nine digs and two aces.
The Greyhounds went 3-0 at the nation's largest collegiate volleyball tournament, held at the Great Lakes Center in Aurora, Ill., Friday and Saturday. Overall, the GLVC schools edged the rival GLIAC 23-22. Check out complete results

Friday vs. TIFFIN
UIndy never trailed in the first or fourth sets on its way to a seventh consecutive victory. The opening set saw the Hounds take just 23 swings, connecting on 11 of them while forcing 10 attack errors by Tiffin (10-8).
Indianapolis had a total of 20 team blocks in its two matches today.
Kristina Kerrigan had 13 kills,
Cheneta Morrison amassed 39 assists and
Lyndsay Callahan had 20 digs.
Friday vs. Northwood
The Greyhounds found themselves down two sets to one to the Northwood Timberwolves (8-9). UIndy responded by leading wire-to-wire in the fourth frame and hitting a combined .327 over the final two sets.
With the match all square heading into the fifth, the score was tied five ties through the early going with neither team willing to concede the match. UIndy put together a timely run to break a 6-6 stalemate, however, as the Hounds scored five straight points on the way to their first five-set win of the year.
Kristina Kerrigan was the Hounds' offensive to-go, as the sophomore hitter racked up a career-high 56 attack attempts while killing 19 balls.
Cheneta Morrison and
Jaymee Reynolds had 26 and 25 assists, respectively. Four Greyhounds recorded double-digit dig totals, led by
Lyndsay Callahan's 19.
